I’ve learned a few things since moving to Oregon…
- It IS possible for me to drive the speed limit…sometimes even UNDER it!
- I really like snow, even driving in it!
- I like to volunteer to do random things I wouldn’t normally get to do
- I don’t have to have fake nails and eyelashes or visit the tanning beds daily
- I think I used to be a snob (shut it if you already knew this!) π
- I don’t have to buy a new car every year. In fact, I can even pay my yearly registration…more than once! (I do get a new car when this one is paid for though…23 months!)
- I can sit still, literally and emotionally
- I’m really a simple tastes kind of girl (this one will be hard for some to believe!)
- Family is awesome…brothers, sisters, parents, nieces, nephews…I love being a part of a family that is close and loves each other! Probably one of the BIGGEST changes for me π
And of course, some things never change…I still love tats and piercings, and driving, music and photos are still my escape π
The move to Oregon hasn’t been all bad. Some parts are still hard as hell, but believe it or not, I think it has really benefited everyone involved, for a multitude of reasons that I’m not really ready to go into. I’ll get there though. We all know I love my brain dumps π
I didn’t know you’d moved to OR! I love OR. It’s a beautiful, beautiful state. What part are you in?
Glad to hear there are good things going on in this big change.
Re: Speed limit and under… they drive slllllllllllllllllllow out there! It was one of the first things I noticed while living there too.
TC – I moved to OR in April 2008. It’s been hard, but I’m finding my way now. I live in the Columbia Gorge, in a town called The Dalles. And yeah, they drive SLOW! I got a speeding ticket my first days here! So, now I set the cruise on “slow” and go with it!
Sounds like some good change. Oregon is beautiful, and the entire Pacific Northwest has a nice way of slowing one down (brain and all) to a nice pace. I was up in Shelton, Washington last August and loved it. If I had it my way, I’d live up there. It’s beautiful.
I’ve been through The Dalles. Gorgeous area. Good for you!
